Voyage Claims Improvement Lead (night shift)

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Demurrage and Post Deal Expense claim professionals in Manila. The team will provide Demurrage and Post deal claim analysis, defence, pursuit, advise and settlement on behalf of companies within the North American business, such as STUSCO, SOPUS and Shell Trading Canada

*Special Project Lead and Product owner
- Ensure user centricity by understanding their needs, challenges
- System request coordinator for new joiners
- Understand business and user requirements of each system in the portfolio including maintaining a query funnel
- Devise and implement improvements to realize those requirements
- Prioritize improvement work balancing benefits with the costs, time and resource needed to deliver the work
- Maintain a list of planned improvements, which notes benefits, costs, time and resource needs. Assess cost v benefits and identify nice to haves versus value adding improvements
- Support the team in implementing quick win improvements that save time and frustration
- Be the final decision maker on what improvements are prioritized, worked and implemented
- Be the final decision maker on features priority and product scope. Interface manager, super user and initiator/ project manager for the demurrage and PDE teams for all systems:
* RADAR, * Salesforce, * ENDUR, * TSAP, * GSAP, * ECAP, * IO, * MCC/ FED, * (DEX, STN SAP), * Public Folders, * Public mailboxes

*Coordinate workload with the other improvement Lead; share ownership and actions
*Drive understanding of systems and processes within team and with key stakeholders, including training and across team learning sessions
*Own, run and/ or coordinate all team reporting, accountable for issue resolution, some of these reports are; TB report, E2E report, (DEM009 Report), All claims report, all fees and accruals reports, performance reports and report outs to managers
*Own team challenges list and work with related stakeholder partners to resolve where possible
*Own system improvements for the team while cooperating and aligning with Digital center of excellence, Global Innovation & Deployment team as well as other digital improvement platforms like Nirvana and Nextgen. Ensure improvements for demurrage and PDE are incorporated.
*Manage data quality checks and initiate system clean-ups where needed
*Manage finance interface for demurrage & PDE and lead process improvement; Monitor effectiveness of the finance process - ensuring all recovery invoices are raised, cost invoices and payment allocations are processed in an accurate and timely way, identifying and implementing improvements and handling MDN requests and ensure timely resolution and improvements
*Coordinate with manager and team leaders to ensure data quality and implement process changes where needed
*Process owner and improvement lead demurrage & PDE
*Work with other global Demurrage teams to identify improvements and ensure alignment of ways of working and goals


  • Acceptance and usability is key hence stakeholder/ user management and change journey planning are a very heavy element of this role. Incumbent needs to be a great relationship builder
  • Develop and improve standards and processes, challenge exceptions
  • Reduce team workload by process improvements such as standardization, simplification and automation
  • Learn other scopes after NA scope and become global focal
