NOPSEMA is Australia’s Offshore Energy Regulator for health and safety, infrastructure integrity and environmental management for offshore energy activities in Commonwealth waters.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Investigations Officer to join our Investigations Team at our Perth Office on a non-ongoing (fixed-term) basis for an initial period of up to 18 months, with possible extension.

In this role you will process accidents, dangerous occurrences, well related incidents and environmental incident reports and maintain incident details in NOPSEMA’s regulatory management system and support ongoing investigations.

You will lead improvements to the investigations process and support NOPSEMA regulatory teams with the provision of duty holder OHS, well integrity and environmental management performance data. 

You will consult with internal and external stakeholders and provide incident intelligence, analysis and trending data and identify and expand effective intelligence based solutions. You will therefore possess extensive experience of managing intelligence, data and analysis and the ability to diagnose problems in a logical and rational manner.

The successful candidate will possess good problem-solving and analysis skills and experience of troubleshooting.  They should also be a strong team player, with the flexibility to shift tasks and manage priorities to deliver on operational needs and meet deadlines with limited supervision in a busy team environment.

An understanding of the offshore petroleum industry is desirable.
