Digital Oilfield Support Engineer - Production Management System (WS/3096)

Job Overview:     A leading global Services Company in the Oil and Gas industry seeks a Digital Oilfield Support Engineer to provide first line support to customers in the use of the Company’s Production Management System.    Applicants invited with a Production/Reservoir Engineering, Digital Oilfield or/and Digital Twin implementation background.  The Company will provide the necessary training.  For non-EU nationals, the Company is happy for you to work remotely until such time as they process your Visa/Work permit for Romania which could take 1-3 months.

Responsibilities:    Reporting to the Head of Support, your primary responsibilities will be to:
•    Become knowledgeable in the Company’s technologies and services.
•    Understand the challenges and drivers within the market and how the Company’s solutions can help address these.  
•    Develop relationships with customers and 3rd parties to better understand customer needs and expand the reach of possible solutions.
•    Build good working relationships with your peers and across the wider company matrix organization.
•    Support customers in the region in the use and optimisation of the Production Management System.
•    Be proactive in fixing technology problems.
•    Work closely with your customer in understanding their business priorities and strategies
•    Become a trusted advisor for Reservoir and Production domain technologies.
•    Work closely with 3rd party vendors whose technologies, data and workflows are interlinked with the Company’s solutions.
•    Organize and deliver multiple workshops and knowledge transfer sessions
•    Understand and promote principles of data-driven insights and reservoir digital twin concepts
•    Understand and promote Agile concepts applied to Reservoir and Production domains
•    Work closely with R&D and Customer Experience organizations – make sure that the views of the Customer are well presented.
•    Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
•    Keep abreast of new oilfield technologies and digital solutions in the market – become competent discussing these with clients with the ability and confidence to highlight advantages of the Company’s solutions.   
 
This is a very exciting role for an individual with a background in Production/Reservoir Engineering, Digital Oilfield or/and Digital Twin implementation background combined with a passion for technology – how it is developed and deployed to improve efficiencies for enterprise-wide organisations. The Company seeks a dynamic, individual who wishes to advance their technical knowledge in this sector.  

 

Preferences:     The successful candidate will have:
•    4+ years of experience in Production/Reservoir Engineering, Digital Oilfield or/and Digital Twin implementation essential.
•    Degree in computer science, data analytics or/and reservoir/petroleum engineering essential.
•    Some knowledge of reservoir/production technologies highly desired.
•    Highly technical essential –exposure/ experience in SQL and other databases, Cloud principles, Nodal Analysis, Real-Time, Business Analytics, Programming (Preferred: Python, Angular), and/or Workflow Automation desired.
•    Familiar with or experience in microservices development architecture highly desired.
•    Exposure to/ knowledge of “UX design” desired.   Experience designing complex solutions for an end-to-end digital environment highly advantageous.
•    Highly customer focus essential – experience in building customer/partner relationships desired.
•     Experience designing and/or implementing technology test cases and scenarios desired.
•    An understanding of the b2b cloud-based hosting desired
•    Can promote Design Thinking concepts desired.
•    Experience using production systems such as PETEX, Decision Space etc. advantageous.
•    High interest in technology and its deployment essential.
•    The technical aptitude to grasp quickly the challenges and rewards of leading-edge technologies
•    Be a team player with good communication skills
•    Fluent in written and verbal English essential.
•    Romanian and German advantageous.
