Hawiyah Gas plant (HGO) is looking to hire a corrosion engineer to join the facility.
HGP was brought on stream in September 2001 as the first gas plant in Saudi Aramco that processed only non-associated gas. HGP current processing capacity is 2.5 BSCFD of feed gas and 240 MBD of Hydrocarbon condensate. HGP receives sour and sweet feed gas through two gas manifolds, Hawiyah and Haradh that have more than 200 wells connected to them from Hawiyah, Juaf, Uthmaniyah and Haradh fields.
You will conduct special studies and analyses in a specialized corrosion control field, such as cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition or materials selection. Provides specialized technical corrosion control services and consultation.
As a successful candidate you should have a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Corrosion Science with minimum of (15) years of experience in processing in Oil/Gas Industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.
You should have strong knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510. And also you should hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, operations and maintenance personnel on matters pertaining to a corrosion control area.
Perform special studies in corrosion control.
Provide evaluation data on capabilities of corrosion control vendors and contractors.
Review operations and monitoring activities associated with corrosion control facilities to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.
Keep current with significant developments in corrosion control, with emphasis on incumbent's area of specialty, through technical literature, participation in professional and industry society meetings, etc.
Develop and review Corrosion Damage mechanism for all plant units. Also, optimize the required and proper type of NDT inspection.
Investigate and corrosion related failure, identify the root causes and develop the required actions that prevent reoccurrence.
Conduct in house technical training for Inspection personal for inspection requirements awareness.
Deploy the inspection & corrosion state of art technologies that could enhance our inspection activities and accuracy.
Develop the Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) Operating Units.
Collaborate with Process engineering to enhance plant chemical treatment that may have integrity impact of our assets.
Review and investigate any up normal inspection measurements (e.g OSI) and come up with the required actions timely.
